Overview
The Data Officer works under the Analytics Unit within the PEAL department. This role is crucial for economic research, data analysis, and program evaluation. The position involves managing data, running economic models, preparing reports, and providing insights for decision-making. You’ll collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to enhance program effectiveness and measure impact.
Key Responsibilities
Program Monitoring (70%)
- Design and develop data collection and aggregation pipelines
- Create comprehensive quarterly Master Scorecard reports and dashboards
- Conduct data quality checks against RTV standards
- Train Data Collectors on best practices
- Analyze program output/outcome reports
- Prepare RTV activities overview reports
- Engage with stakeholders to share findings
Support & Collaboration (20%)
- Train PAs/POs and Data Collectors for AHS/SE surveys
- Support evaluation analysis for impact reporting
- Assist with donor reporting data analysis
- Act as liaison between program monitoring and other departments
- Support strategic work plan implementation
- Develop and update training manuals
- Provide program activity reports
Research (10%)
- Conduct economic research and trend analysis
- Research M&E tools and best practices
- Apply econometric techniques for data interpretation
- Stay current with economics and data analysis trends
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in data management, analysis, and program monitoring
- Proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, STATA, Alteryx, MS Excel)
- Data visualization skills (PowerBI, Tableau, Shiny) is advantageous

- Experience in data lifecycle management
- Ability to manage changing priorities and deadlines
- Experience with rural community research (advantageous)
